I like the 2016 MKX, but I wish Ford hadn't used full-width taillights on the upcoming 2015 Edge as well, since Ford kept that design cue Lincoln-exclusive for quite some time. I already said this on the Truck Yeah! post, but I'd like to hear what you guys' opinions are.

I like the Edge, the MKX is ugly.

Considering they still very obviously share the same glasshouse and roof, Ford really should have tried harder to tone down any other easily controllable similarities.

It's also a Dodge thing.

I know that, and I'd say that Dodge does it better; what I mean to say is that it seemed to be meant as a Lincoln-only thing as far as FoMoCo products are concerned.

Is it just me or do the light clusters look exactly the same on both cars? It seems like they are just flipped.

They're distinctly different - the MKX's taillights are more rounded, while the Edge's use light diffusers and are more, uh, edgy.

full width tail lights look dumb to me. On all cars.

That's really not that different though. Lincoln isn't jumping in enough in making their brand different from Ford. I know they are basically on life support and don't get anywhere near the budget of really any other luxury car, but Ford decided to commit to Lincoln they must commit fully. American luxury used to be "world class". Where is it now?

The lack of differentiation is what I was trying to point out when I made this post, i.e. Ford using a styling cue that they originally kept to Lincoln.

I think we won't be seeing radically different products from Lincoln until they unveil production cars based on the Lincoln-exclusive D6 platform, which would be a couple of years off.

Edge looks like a new Sienna from the back.

Funny, how they're more edgy, and yet very dodgy at the same time.
